Last week, George Bush claimed constitutional authority to order phone taps on US citizens without court approval and has also admitted to a secret wiretapping programme which targets foreign calls and emails made or received in the US.
At the same time, an inquiry into alleged torture flights has just begun on the not so sunny shores of Britain. The human rights group Liberty chose to take action after reports that CIA chartered jets have flown into the UK over 210 times since 2001.
This is hardly news to Muslims, nor should it be news to non-Muslims for that matter. These methods of state control have been employed throughout history but why is it that action was not taken when the Muslims had something to say on the matter?
Is their voice inaudible? Their presence invisible? Their ideas incomprehensible? Or does the institutional ear and eye choose not to hear or see and claim mental retardation!
As the potency of political Islam increases, the “Ëœintellectuals’ in high places can only sweat profusely for they lack the acumen to combat such ideas. Their solution: intercept the Muslims’ conversations, create a tenuous link to Al Qaida, fly them to a remote camp, deny them human contact, interrogate and torture to the black heart’s content.
Democrats have accused the White House of using September 11 as “Ëœa pretext for stealthy accumulation of extraordinary powers.’ Good luck to the man who believes his powers can exceed those of Allah swt. In the making of such laws, man challenges the very meaning of his existence.
Senator Russ Feingold said “ËœThe president has stated a doctrine that he can just make up the law and create whatever other powers he wants on his own.’
Contrast this to the words of our Creator
“ËœThe command is for none but Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him; that is the true straight religion, but most men knew not.’ (12:40)
The perfect form of state control is one where humanity is elevated, not stifled. I pray that the Islamic system returns to lift us all from the depths we are in.

Muslims Abused their freedom in the West and this is the result of it.
The same style of governmental control as is in the Middle East by spying, phone tapping etc.
Im not surprised and nor am I not going to expect Muslims or of any Asian/Middle Eastern descent will be soon made to deport. They have a right for we once again misunderstood the concept of freedom in their land.

How can you say Muslims have abused their rights? How have I abused my rights? Just because some people commit a crime why should all of the Muslims be blamed? Eastern Europeans in Britain are often convicted of people trafficking or running brothels using women from Eastern Europe but there isn’t a blanket policy of targeting Eastern Europeans. Why can’t it be argued that they abuse their freedoms or their rights as Europeans? This only happens to Muslims because the government has other agendas, the silencing and integration of Muslims to name but a few.

Muslims have abused their rights because they have been distracting the life of the West. The West isnt our home and for muslims who are originally Western by descent, their home would be Saudi Arabia or in other words the Middle East.
I am only saying this not because I have hate for Muslims for I am a proud Muslim but I have despair to see Muslims trying to change the Western law/lifestyle when their own real law in the Middle East needs to be changed to represent the TRUE Islam. To make Islam great needs improvement in the core of the Islamic history and land of worship to God. If we dont improve our land of worship aka the saudi arabian region, then of course we are unable to have any control and rightousness in changing the law of the West.
Remind yourself about the Lebanese riots in Sydney who claim to be ‘Muslim’ and are supported by Muslim scholars.
I am not here to cause any problem but I am writing this long post to make you recognise, not to argue for I do my best to respect what you have to say. Islam is a stake and Islam is scarred because these few Muslim criminals have been led astray and for other peaceful loving Muslims to ignore them as we already have done, will have more trouble around the corner. This is the trouble for us obiding Muslims in the West. We suffer because of their stupid acts. Even if you really didnt abuse your rights, your brothers and sisters of faith may have and always always in faith we are meant to correct someone whose wrong about faith. Because of 911, everyone looks at Muslims and Islam. Thus to help save Islam and its purity, we have to protect it from being tarnished by the sick views about this wonderful religion.

I totally agree wit you that we have to have an Islamic state that impliments true Islam so that it can be a true example. But before that we should explain to the Muslims and non-Muslims the power of Islam so that they can appreciate why Muslims want to live by Islam. This is important so that Muslims are left a lone to decide their own political destiny and how they want to live without having democracy or tyranny (nowadays virtually synonomous) forced upon them.

You already showed the power of Islam to Non Muslims by showing them the power BIN LADEN has on our grounds. That part is done!!! most muslims want a nation of true islam, so make it happen please!!
So then you are entitled to the government you wish!! I still think voting is needed for Muslims for everyone to see what they want, you can not force them. But the Muslim world needs a new government!

Baghdad:
Erm… I’m a little confused. Exactly when did anyone on this blog, let alone be humble, ever show the power of Islam by reference to Bin Laden?
You seem to be making reference to the events of 11 September 2001. I’m certain that all of the contributors to this blog view those events as acts of terrorism/murder. I’m also quite sure that we would all describe them as the consequence of a lack of Islam on the part of the perpetrators.
Perhaps you could clarify your position?

Just to clarify, when i say the power of Islam i mean the power of its ideas.

Is the West my home? Or is it the Middle East or Bangladesh (ethnic origin)? I think that question is irrelevant really. I have no blind emotional allegience to any nation or flag. My allegience is only to Allah and His Messenger (saw).
Wherever I go in the world, I will abide by the Law (unless it’s against Islam) and try to be a productive member of society - simply because this is what Islam obliges of me.
Regarding my home, I think Baber Ahmad said it best:
“the homeland of a Muslim is not necessarily the place where he was born or lives, but the land in which Allah’s Shariah is established and every Muslim feels secure. Since at present there is no land on earth in which Allah’s Shariah is established and every Muslim feels secure, every Muslim is without a homeland.”

I disagree that a few dodgy Muslims are leading us astray. I have been to countless seminars, events, demonstrations, lectures, study circles and Masajids… I’ve never met a terrorist or anyone that agrees with killing innocents for political gains.
What I have seen are Muslims who believe in the Caliphate, believe in Shariah and believe in “One Ummah”. It is these ideas that the Governments of the world try to label as terrorism/extremism.
It is an exagerated myth that any Muslims are the root cause here. Yes, there are a few dodgy Muslims out there - but this will always be the case in any country or any ideology for that matter, whether Islam, Communism or Capitalism.
There will always be a few nutters out there. Even at the time of the Prophet (saw) there were a few nut-cases. The problem is that those in power focus on these nutters to demonise Islam.
The other nut-cases are Bush, Blair and their Capitalist friends who invade the Muslim lands and then wonder why people are angry.

Real elections in Iraq would be a dream-come-true.
Fake Elections are worse than “no elections” because the people will stop struggling for their cause. The Iraqi people were deceived into thinking that these elections would mean something. They meant nothing but pro-longing their suffering.
Also, we must never confuse the words “DEMOCRACY” with “ELECTIONS”. The two words are NOT synonymous. “DEMOCRACY” and “DICTATORSHIP” on the other hand are synonymous.

Shaykh Rattle ‘n’ Roll,
When i say showing power of Islam by allowing Bin Laden, I mean that if we sit quiet and not denounce it to the public of the West, they will see it as though we are supporting this terrorism from Bin Laden.

Muslims do not have a home when it comes to faith but because of the great inflow coming from the Middle Eastern and Asian Muslims to the West, it means something, especially when you have them indirectly and directly funding and supporting terrorists like Alqaeda. If there is evidence of that from Muslims, then the West has every right to deport us to our real nationalistic homes even if we Muslims do not identify ourselves by nation! It is a must and something we have to obey. Remind yourself that the West is not perfect in its ruling so this is how they do it.
