Sheltered Lives

--------------

A reminder to myself:Do you remember sitting behind this brother? How he struggled to pull you and chacha for 15 minutes across broken roads and jarring rain.

After the meager fare was paid, do you recall offering him your umbrella or that Evian in your hand?

Was it not at that moment, when you realised how ungrateful you had become? So easy for you to think, that in your sheltered life in the UK you were actually suffering from hardship.

“Oh bro, these chips are too dry.” - “Oh bro, I can’t walk it that far, give us a lift” - “Oh mum, I’m really knackered, I’ll vacuum the house later, please, you just don’t know how hard uni was today” - “Sorry mate can’t come into work, got a stomach ache” - “Oh iPod Nano, how dare you be out of stock!”

Oh, how sad your soul is.

    Wasalaam,

InshAllah it should be fixed now. We’ve checked that it works with IE6 and Firefox, so it should be ok.

Alhamdulillah, I’m well. It was a reminder that I complain too much, without comprehending the suffering countless others are going through right now.

    Assalamu ‘Alaikum,

I use Firefox but the video isnt working, it freezes. Is it something to do with my internet connection?

  4. Shaykh Rattle 'n' Roll Says:

I’ve tried it on my computer, and it is working fine in Internet Explorer and in Firefox.

If anyone is having problems and wants to watch the video clip, you can download the it from the following link, inshaAllah:

Rickshaw Video Clip - click to download

Maybe we’ll try to use a different format for future video clips if this setup isn’t working for everyone.

We only complain when we fail to find the good in what we already have..thus, with hasty hearts we will never be satisfied..we are only unjust to our own souls

The heart that pauses, defines and finds the spiritual essence in what one already has will only be richest soul on earth

  6. slave of Allah Says:

SubhanAllah, there are too few of those hearts in this world.

    And why?

Because preoccupation with the dunya doesn’t allow for the pause, the definition, the search.

When it is achieved, you find yourself in a beautifully crowded solitude…
