You don’t need a course in modern etymology to figure out that Islamicpolitik is a really cool word. In the eyes of the contributors to this blog, it was inevitable that this blog would return, not just because, ermm, we want to copyright the title, but because in the course of 2 years a lot has changed. Yes, the popularity of blogs has somewhat waned. The past frivolity and novelty of blogs has been passed into the realms of social networking sites and vlogging. But this has resultantly left a field ripe for more serious discussion and dialogue.

Whilst the sites namesake suggests that we are all going to be dead serious, this may necessarily not be true. I will be a contributing far less, but leave the rest to a band of very trusted and competent brothers. As like before, the tone of the blog is decidedly mixed; formal and informal, light hearted or stone cold, personal stories, running commentaries and hopefully some pretty decent analysis once in a while. More-so, I hope insha’Allah that we can bring some unique discussions to the fore. My own expertise is in oil depletion, renewable energy, being an Eco Warrior climate change and precious metals (I’ll keep you guessing which one helps me earn my rizq); rarely have I heard an Islamic viewpoint on these subjects (from Muslim bloggers), so I will duly try my best.
