Gaza and the wrong solutions

--------------

Al hamdulillah I’ve heard many productive ways of helping the Palestinians in Gaza, like asking the Arab armies to move, making dua, sending charity and boycotting Israeli goods. However, looking for solutions from your local MP and the UN is the height of political naivety.

We have to remember that it was Britain that helped to create Israel in the first place and has been supporting it and helping to arm it for the last 60 years.

In 2007 when David Cameron was discussing the proposed British boycott of Israeli academic institutions he went as far as saying that he believed there was something “in the DNA” of Conservatives that was “profoundly impressed” by what Israel has achieved, and he also declared himself a Zionist.

What sort of record does Britain have in “resolving” crises in the Muslim world? Iraq and Afghanistan are just two examples. Over a million people dead and millions displaced. Surely it would be better for us to lobby our MP’s NOT to get involved and to leave us to sort out our own affairs?

As far as the UN is concerned, a resolution that disadvantages Israel would likely not be passed as the USA would veto it. The UN has been turned into the mouth piece of the Security Council and nothing will be passed that counters their interests. To add insult to injury Israel has already bombed UN buildings in Gaza. Even if a resolution was passed would it make any difference? Israel has broken 66 UN resolutions in its history – more than Iran and North Korea combined – and has also regularly flouted international law.

Israel doesn’t even follow its own laws issued by its own courts. Regarding the building of settlements on Palestinian land, Peace Now said “[The data] indicates the direct violation of Israeli law carried out by the State itself, driven by the architects and leaders of the settlement movement.”

Even if we were to receive verbal condemnation by the British government and by the UN this is simply not enough. This is a time that requires immediate defense of the Palestinians and this can only be done by the Arab armies. So instead of utilising all our energy in lobbying our MP’s, let’s try to ratchet up enough pressure on our rulers to send the armies, and if the rulers are not willing then they should step aside and let someone else lead us instead. Hamdulillah we have already seen the fruits of this work, as high ranking Egyptian army officers have been arrested because of their despair at Mubareks reluctance to defend the Palestinians.

The Prophet (saw) said

“The master of martyrs is Hamza and the one who accounts the tyrant ruler and is killed doing so”

May Allah give our brothers the victory in defending their land and move the Arab armies to help them. Ameen.

What are you talking about? The arabs countries are rotton to the core – both rulers and people! Just because a few army personal display some emotion (and you provide no evidence of this), it doesn’t mean any actionable results. Even so, the Egyptian army proved its own futilty during the an-Naksah.

I don’t care for Isreal. But you seem to want further bloodshed? What will happen if you propose that the arabs go an intervene? You’ll just get more begger-thy-neighbour narrow politiking.

@Ab asino lanam – The rulers are rotten, but not the people. There have been demonstrations all over the Arab world even though those who demonstrate know that they could easily be arrested or beaten up. You have people on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing asking to be let in to help the Palestinians.

If you’re referring to the 1967 war, that was a pathetic attempt by Gamal Abdul Nasr. Just before the war he asked the UN peace keeping forces in Sinai to leave effectively announcing to the world that he was planning an attack. If you’re about to start a war with someone you don’t give them prior notice so they can ready themselves and yet not even have your own air force ready. His air force should have been in the air monitoring the situation and carrying out sorties. Don’t you think this may prove that perhaps Gamal Abdul Nasr was not sincerely trying to win the war? Armies can’t win wars when their leaders have no intention of winning them.

I don’t want blood shed but what I do want is protection for the Palestinian people. This comes in the form of military defense, state boycotts, a cutting of diplomatic ties, etc… So far none of this has happened even though its very easy to do. Even Venezuela has expelled the Israeli ambassador.

These rulers couldn’t care less about anyone else and that’s why all the Arab countries are in such a mess. Gaza is just the tip of the iceberg. So instead of investing all our energy in ineffective actions we should invest our energy in action that will lead to fundamental change and this is the best time to do it, as the pressure is mounting.

The British created the whole ‘Palestine problem’ with the assistance of a so-called Islamic movement. Name them and condemn them. If that movement continue to spread its propaganda, there will be more Palestine problems.

  4. Abu Hajjer Says:

I’ll gladly name and shame those so called Muslims who helped create Israel. King Abdullah of Jordan who made a secret agreement with the Jews that he would support them in taking Palestine as long as he was given the West Bank to incorporate into his Hashemite Kingdom. Abdullah said that he had no intention to “resist or impede the partition of Palestine and creation of a Jewish state.” So my friend King Abdullah of Jordan and the other rulers of the Arab countries including king Faisal of Iraq (both are blood brothers, their father was the Sharif of Mecca and both British agents) helped serve Britain’s interests in the creation of Israel. I condemn them!

  5. George Carty Says:

What’s the point of fighting Israel? The Arabs can’t possibly win against Israel, because Israel has nuclear weapons!

In a sense it’s good that more Muslims globally are wanting to take a course of action or send irrelevant charity that some Palestinians get annoyed about. However, if only the ummah realised that if she looked at what the root solution to the root problem of our situation was, and then channeled all her energy into one unified course of action in aim of that objective, and then made dua’, we would have change by Friday Jum’ah, Allah Willing. “Allah does not change the circumstance of a people (nation) until…(unification in Ideology leads to Ideological change). Unfortunately, it seems we have to keep making the same mistakes and getting bitten…
